Rainton Meadows Visitor Centre
Rainton Meadows Visitor Centre is set within 100 hectares of woodland, wetland and grassland habitats, all of which are linked through an excellent network of accessible pathways and viewing areas.
Low Barns Visitor Centre
Low Barns nature reserve is located next to the River Wear near Witton le Wear. When you arrive at the site you are greeted by a series of old farm buildings, over the 50+ years of Durham Wildlife Trust’s management of the site, these old barns have been converted and adapted to become Low Barns Visitor Centre.

We look after 50 nature reserves for wildlife in the Durham Wildlife Trust area and many of these places are fantastic areas to explore on your own, with friends or family! We also two flagship nature reserves with visitor centres and coffee shops plus a WildPlay area and education 'Den'.
