About the event

In this session we will be learning about invasive species and their impact on the reserve. We will be studying the seed dispersal of Himalayan balsam and how best to control it. As part of our site maintenance we will be balsam bashing!

Join this group of young volunteers and get some hands on experience of managing a nature reserve and recording the wildlife. You'll gain new skills and get involved in conservation tasks including surveying, planting and painting tasks during these sessions, as well as getting to enjoy the great outdoors!

These volunteering hours can count towards a Duke of Edinburgh Award or can be recorded as work experience on your CV, plus you’re helping to do your bit for the environment!

Please dress for the weather and bring suitable waterproof clothing. Wear sturdy boots/footwear.
