About the event
In this session we will be studying the properties and value of trees. We will be planting saplings and seeds and studying the myths and legends surrounding native species. We will also be creating some wood work crafts.
Join this group of young volunteers (11-14 years) and get some hands-on experience of managing a nature reserve and recording the wildlife. You'll gain new skills and get involved in conservation tasks including surveying, planting and painting tasks during these sessions, as well as getting to enjoy the great outdoors!
These volunteering hours can count towards a Duke of Edinburgh Award or can be recorded as work experience on your CV, plus you’re helping to do your bit for the environment!
Please dress for the weather and bring suitable waterproof clothing. Wear sturdy boots/footwear.
Activities across different sessions may include:
- Hand tool use
- Painting
- Planting
- Grass cutting and raking
