Durham City Runs 2026 Place
About the event
Run for Durham Wildlife Trust this summer by signing up for Durham City Run Festival! By running for the Trust, you are supporting nature conservation from the Tees to the Tyne. Your fundraising will help us to continue our great work in our local area, enabling us to look after special spaces for nature and protect key species now and in the future, as well as helping to fund our education work, ensuring the next generation can care for their natural world.
What you need to do:
- Pay towards our admin costs - to secure your spot, we ask for £15 for one of our 5k places or £25 for one of our 10k places. This is non-refundable*
- Raise at least £100 (5k)/£200 (10k) in fundraising on JustGiving - click here (this will require an account)
- Send us a picture of yourself and a bio that we can use on our social media and website (this will encourage donations from our wider support network to help you reach your target)
What Durham Wildlife Trust will do:
- Send you our digital fundraising pack and sponsorship form
- Provide lots of support to help you fundraise, including sharing your fundraising page on our social media channels and website - this often leads to donations from strangers
- Option to order Durham Wildlife Trust training top for an additional £5
Please note, our admin fee covers Trust staff time in managing our Durham City Run places, promoting on social media etc., it does not cover the cost of the charity place to Durham City Run, which is actually far higher due to the small number that the Trust takes each year. You must be prepared to fundraise and make an effort to fundraise in order to take a charity place from Durham Wildlife Trust. Our team will make sure you receive lots of support in this.
Durham Wildlife Trust only enters 10 runners per race route in the Durham City Run Festival, please only take one of our places if you agree to raise at least the recommended amount for your category for our wonderful cause.
*In the event of run postponement charity places are transferred to the following years event, in this case the place you have secured with your admin fee is also transferred and no further payment required. If the date of the run is changed to a date you can no longer attend, this fee can either be refunded to you, or donated to the Trust. Should you wish to defer your place to 2027, you should get in contact with info@eventsofthenorth.com no later than 4 weeks prior to the event. Transfers of places can be given to another runner no later than 6 weeks before the event date; an admin fee will apply for this.
