About the event

Join some of our Durham Wildlife Trust staff at Low Barns as we build a variety of habitats for our smaller wildlife friends. From bird boxes to bug hotels, we hope to show you how easy it is to welcome wildlife into your own garden. Attendees will have the opportunity to create their own wildlife habitat that they can then take home and place in their garden to further encourage wildlife. Alternatively, there will be opportunity to participate in a large community project.

Please be aware that while every effort will be made to allow each participant to create a box, we cannot guarantee we will have enough materials for more than one per person/family. We plan on hosting this workshop outdoors so please dress suitably for the weather. In the case of adverse weather, we will host this workshop indoors.

We welcome everyone to attend but ask under 18s are accompanied by an adult as we will be handling hammers, nails and wood that may have sharp edges/splinters.

The visitors centre at Low Barns has toilet facilities and a café.
