About the event

As part of the Coastal Grasslands Reconnected project, we're working in partnership with the National Trust to offer a series of guided nature walks and activities for all ages.

This walk is being led by the National Trust's Durham Coast and Countryside Ranger, Jason, who will help you explore wildflower meadows, and discover local wildlife, including birds, butterflies, moths, and fungi.

The Coastal Grasslands Reconnected Project aims to create and restore the wildflower rich magnesian limestone grasslands along the Durham Coastline. The project is a partnership between Durham County Council, the National Trust, and Durham Wildlife Trust. Coastal Grasslands Reconnected is funded by the Government’s Species Survival Fund.

Children are welcome, but under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Sturdy footwear and weatherproof clothing is advised. All walking routes include rough ground and slopes. Walks will be at a slow pace with lots of stops.

These events are free, just turn up and join in on the day.

There is parking available, but no nearby toilet facilities.
