About the event
Over the 2 hours you will be assisting in the recording of various species found along our coastline. There will be a professional on hand to assist in the identification, and so beginners are most welcome. You will need sturdy footwear that you don’t mind getting wet, and ideally, as it may be quite warm, a bottle of water. Lunch will not be provided, so please eat before or after the activity. The engagement officer will be waiting at the meeting point, should you not be able to find them, they can be contacted on: 07561855932.
Toilets are not available unless you head into the nearby village, and so please plan accordingly.
There is parking a short walk from the entrance to the beach at the Blackhall Rocks Beach Car Park. A short 2-minute walk from the car park leads to the top of the stairs leading to the beach.
Please wear suitable footwear with good grip, that you don’t mind potentially getting wet. Please also consider dressing appropriately for the weather, including sunscreen should it be a hot day, as you will be in an exposed location.
The access to the beach is steep, and includes stairs.
This event is for ages 16+, however, under 18’s MUST be supervised by an adult. As it requires climbing over coastal rocks, this activity is not suitable for those with medical issues that may be exacerbated should they slip or fall.
