The screaming sounds of swifts across our rooftops could once be heard by thousands of households across Durham. These days, it may be the experience of just a handful of streets. This is perhaps not surprising, given that UK swifts have declined by almost 70% over the past 30 years. So, what can we do to help our feathered friends thrive once more? 

Join us for a discussion about the work Durham Swift City is doing across our operational area to tackle the decline in swift numbers and how you can help these amazing birds at home. 

We will explore the causes behind swift declines, showcase our work installing swift boxes across church towers and share practical, at-home solutions to create safe swift nesting sites in your community.
