About the event

Join our Reserves Officer to support the ongoing restoration of Milkwellburn Wood. Learn how the team at Durham Wildlife Trust manages reserves for wildlife, and gain hands-on experience of tree planting.

Please wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions on the day. All tree planting materials provided. Gloves will be available, but if you have your own, please bring them.

Suitable for families. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Some street parking may be available in Chopwell such as Whittonstall Rd. Please park considerately.

What to bring

Wear sturdy footwear and clothing suitable for the conditions. The planting area can get wet so wellies will be needed if it rains. You may wish to bring sun protection, insect repellent and/or waterproofs depending on the weather. 

The walk to site is along a track and the work site in a grass field. 

There are no toilets or other facilities at the reserve.
