Event details
About the event
Join us and local ornithologist John Olley, for a winter walk to spot the seasonal birds that visit our coast in winter. Brush up on your bird identification skills and enjoy a relaxing morning walk at the Nose's Point nature reserve in Seaham.
We will have binoculars available to borrow, but of course if you have your own, please bring them.
This event is being delivered as part of the Coastal Grasslands Reconnected Project, which aims to create and restore the wildflower rich magnesian limestone grasslands along the Durham Coastline. The project is a partnership between Durham County Council, the National Trust, and Durham Wildlife Trust. Coastal Grasslands Reconnected is funded by the Government’s Species Survival Fund.
Children are welcome, but under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Sturdy footwear and weatherproof clothing is advised. Walks will be at a slow pace with lots of stops.
There is Pay and Display parking available, but no nearby toilet facilities.
Meet at Nose's Point Car Park, at the end of the road, at 10am. W3W: ///caps.cemented.crossings
